“After four weeks, I saw a resolution of my depressive symptoms.”

That was Sara’s experience in the KIND study, a ketogenic therapy pilot in college students living with major depressive disorder at The Ohio State University.

Sara wasn’t the only one. Students who completed the study saw, on average, a 37% decrease in depression scores after 2 weeks and about a 70% improvement by 10-12 weeks.

As students head into a new school year, we are revisiting this study to remind students and families of the potential role ketogenic therapy could play in serious mental illness, even for those in college.
