Cosmic Conquest Prototype Review — Avengers re-roll your dice! @Shelfside

We review a prototype of Cosmic Conquest, a game with your 3 contenders rolling dice against each other, set in the Alpha Clash TCG universe by Rising Empire studios. Players will use cards (like weapons) and contender’s 3 abilities to manipulate their dice rolls and add symbols. Even planets have their own abilities that can be triggered within combat! With a lot of asymmetry and replayability, Cosmic Conquest does Ameritrash dice rolling well, but are all of the character powers not worth the reading? Or maybe with this prototype, some chits are not good but will get smoothened out? Should Cosmic Conquest take more of a page from the popular party/filler game, King of Tokyo, or should it be proud of its mediumweight nature?

$Project: Elite is ANXIETY board gaming (and why it works) Real time dice rolling makes for a super frantic cooperative game! Project ELITE (by CMON) has players taking on the role of sci-fi shooters to eliminate the aliens and complete an objective. Weve only tried the first mission so this is not a review, rather just a depiction of how crazy this asymmetric miniature filled game is! No kidding, you roll for everything, like movement and firing weapons (that need to be loaded). The bad red die roll moves the aliens during the two minuted allotted time! Luckily these tactical rules are quite simple, like determining line of sight or just how to roll the dice for combat. But how frantic is this kickstarter game really, and is it worth the anxiety? There are 2 card duelers, the All Time Wrestling game we previously reviewed, and Primal Showdown which is another bluffing game. Winning asymmetric games with card management is quite an interesting tabletop task, filled with drama. What happens when Shelfside is both in the finals? We also go into Board Game Cafes (FLGS) in Abu Dhabi which is filled with Catan and Dungeons and Dragons (DnD). Other board games we played are Heat (days of wonder) and Earth! Storm the Block is also filled with comic book activity (Department of Culture and Tourism helps), with Marvel and DC artists helped by Sandstorm Comics.
