System76 has released COSMIC 1.7, the latest stable version of its open-source, Rust-based Linux desktop environment.
This update improves COSMIC Files with better network browsing, app search in the Open With dialog, improved grid alignment, and customizable Favorites. COSMIC Edit also gets smarter tab behavior and improved Cut and Copy controls.
COSMIC 1.7 further improves cursor scaling, accessibility zoom, Bluetooth settings, monitor refresh-rate handling, COSMIC Greeter, and system stability. It also introduces a remote desktop portal that can enable tools such as Steam Input to control keyboard and mouse input.
