Each year, Duke students, faculty, and staff come together to honor members of the Duke University community who exemplify the life, legacy, and service of Samuel DuBois Cook—the university’s first Black tenured professor.

Honored this year are Jasmin Nicole Riley, B. Eni Owoeye, Marissa Young, Thavolia Glymph, and the Honorable Roy Cooper.
