LJ Rader, the creator of @artbutmakeitsports, and sports photographer Kevin Sabitus, tackle the connections between sports photography and artworks in the museum’s collection.

The pair draw on pivotal moments from Chicago sports history, making surprise passes between art and athletics and tipping off new ways of seeing. Emily Fry, executive director of Interpretation, moderates the conversation as Rader and Sabitus reveal how competition, endurance, and spectacle found in sports are already at play across many works on view at the museum.

This program was recorded on May 15, 2026.
