In this video, I tear down and try out several Convergent Technologies NGEN computers and modules:
* 80286 CPU Module
* HSD140 SCSI Disk Unit w/ Micropolis 1375 146MB drive
* HSX SCSI expansion
* XE-001 Ethernet
* 386i CPU Module
* QIC Tape Backup
* Dual Floppy
* Convergent 14 inch monitor
Couldn't quite get the tape unit working (had a bad roller, had bad tapes, but the real show stopper was that I can't get it to engage the drive motor), and there were some issues with the floppy drives. Maybe a good cleaning would help.
These Convergent computers (also sold by Burroughs and Unisys) are a really interesting architecture due to their modular design where additional modules can easily be coupled together, extending the capabilities of the computer.
Tried to repair the old Micropolis SCSI drives, managed to salvage one of them but not the other.
