Constructing A Clay-lined Pond: Transporting Clay And Waiting For Dozer To Build Dam. Part 1
Lets haul some clay while we wait for a dozer to free up. I had a few days off from work and hauled clay for about 4 days. The dump trailer had a capacity of 4 yards but due to weight each trip had approximately 3 yards. The plan is to place 2 inchs of clay and mix it into the soft sandy soil with my tractors rake. I will follow up with a solid layer of clay, Sodium bentonite layer and top off with another clay layer. This is a learning process for me and a great experience and hope you all have fun watching me and my crazy ideas.
The clay was hauled 3 yards at a time for a combined mileage off 44 miles round trip, I did 36 trips for a bit over 1600 miles.
