Embracing Natural Highs and Introspection: In response to some of your questions, I clarify that I do not use drugs. My natural love for walking, reading, and pondering ideas provides all the inspiration and mental stimulation I need. Each walk and every book read enhances my cognitive journey, a journey I also want to keep connected to our real stories and real lives.
Understanding Constellatory Cognition: A recurring theme in my thoughts is "constellatory cognition" – the idea that we share experiences from uniquely individual standpoints due to our distinct life paths. This interconnectedness, despite our varied perceptions, is a testament to our shared existence in the tapestry of life. The term, inspired by constellations in the sky, suggests that each of us is a part of a grander system, creating and witnessing life from different perspectives.
Shifting Perspectives like a Kaleidoscope: I often liken our varied perceptions to a kaleidoscope. With every turn, a new, beautiful pattern emerges, much like understanding others' viewpoints. Our ability to empathize and shift our perspectives could unlock profound insights into each other’s lives. As technology progresses, perhaps one day we might truly experience life from another’s eyes, enhancing our collective understanding even further.
The Importance of Listening and Connection: Reflecting on a conversation with Parker Palmer, I came to see love as a form of deep listening. Whether it's listening to my dog’s silent wisdom during our walks or engaging with loved ones, this active listening fosters a deeper connection with the world around us and ourselves. Through these diaries and conversations, I strive to connect with diverse stories and perspectives, driven by a desire to learn and grow.
