At the Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures, a University of Chicago team of conservators work to preserve cultural heritage from some of the world’s oldest civilizations. Take a look inside the Conservation Laboratory to see how Laura D’Alessandro and Alison Whyte treat and care for ancient artifacts, like 2,500-year-old glazed bricks from the Assyrian city of Dur-Sharrukin, in order to preserve them for future generations.
