Conrail Shared Assets Operations freight train WPOI-32 passes through NJ Transit’s Metuchen Station at Metuchen, New Jersey shortly after midnight on November 2, 2024. CSX SD40-2 No. 8006 (built for the Louisville & Nashville in 1979) and CSX GP40-2 No. 4408 (built for Conrail in 1977) provide the power for tonight’s transfer job. Utilizing trackage rights over Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor line, the train is bringing cars from CSAO’s Oak Island Yard in Newark down to CSAO’s Metuchen Yard in Metuchen. Watch until the end for a surprise on the close track!
