On a cool evening in Bordentown City, New Jersey, a Conrail Shared Assets Operations (CSAO) freight train climbs the grade into town as it begins its brief journey up the Robbinsville Industrial Track.
This small industrial track was at one time the primary route connecting Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and New York, New York (by way of Camden and South Amboy, New Jersey) The line experienced a gradual decline throughout the second half of the 20th century, most notably accelerated by the splitting of the line at Hightstown, New Jersey to end its use as a through route.
At the time this was filmed in 2021, the line was served infrequently by a small local freight (WPBU-20) with only one remaining customer.
