Community Health Resources is bringing opioid addiction treatment directly to communities in northeastern Connecticut with a new mobile clinic designed to reduce barriers to care.

The program serves an area with limited public transportation, allowing patients to receive treatment closer to home instead of traveling to a clinic in Putnam. Inside the mobile unit, patients can receive methadone, physical exams, counseling services, housing assistance and other support.

Community Health Resources also plans to offer help from specialists, including people who have experienced recovery themselves.
