Federal immigration enforcement activity in Danbury is raising questions about a new Connecticut law that includes a ban on face coverings for agents and restrictions involving locations such as schools and churches without a warrant.

NBC Connecticut captured video Thursday showing agents wearing face coverings while apparently detaining someone. The Department of Homeland Security says masks protect agents from doxing and has sued Connecticut over the law, calling the ban unconstitutional. The law does not take effect until Oct. 1, and local and state officials say it may be difficult to enforce.

Community activists are calling on elected officials to take additional action, while lawmakers debate the impact and enforceability of the new law.
