Thanks to a generous grant from National Park Foundation and Zion National Park Foundation, Zion National Park hosted 50 fifth-grade students from Rainbow Dreams Academy in Las Vegas for their first wilderness and camping experience. They express their thanks in this video.

Our wilderness journey was such a blast
Unforgettable experience rememberable past
We learned a lot of things we never knew
Saw things too we want to thank you
For teaching us how canyons are formed
Water cut rock and Zion was born
We walk the trails with our packs
Identifying animals by scat and tracks
We took hikes and watched our feet
This is the wilderness and not the street
We pitched our tents and made our bed
We watered up and stayed well fed
We looked for clues about past years
Read rock art threw hunting Spears
We saw the many uses of Yucca plants
And no there not a pest, we really need ants
Saving the environment is important too
Remember, recycle, reduce, reuse
We demonstrated food web includes all
Walked in water at Mystery Falls
Roasted smores and learned about bats
Stars and Venus some interesting facts
Our journey was long didn't want it to end
So concrete canyon can we do it again
