If you want a clear path from "never composed" to original tracks for PC & console games, grab the free roadmap: bestmusiccoach.com/roadmap?htrafficsource=yt&el=composers-stop-layering-instruments-before-your-melody-is-a-
If you're composing video game music and there's a melody, the most important part of that music is the melody. Now, if you're composing ambient music, that's a story for another time. If you're composing thematic music, meaning it has a melody, that melody is the most important part. And if you take a mediocre melody, no number of hours of music production is going to change the fact that it is a mediocre melody. You have to have a fantastic melody first. The way you win with melody is first you got to win with the rhythm of the melody, then you're going to go in, change around the notes, get something compelling. But my point, when I was first starting to write songs and compose music, I would spend like an hour writing the melody. And then I'd spend like 20 hours just trying to make that melody sound exciting by adding other instruments around it. It actually is the other way around. Spend five to 10 hours getting that melody to be absolutely banger. And then all the other instruments are just going to be the cherry on top. If you want to create incredible, amazing, compelling melodies that are going to absolutely emotionally impact people when they listen to them, check out Composed Legendary Video Game Music. It's right here. It's out on Amazon right now.
