Over the last few years, I have installed a few mini splits and I finally decided to fix a regret I had at my house. The central A/C went out in the middle of summer a few years ago, and I replaced it as soon as I could with whatever I could. While I got the furnace replaced at the same time, I really wished I would have been able to install a heat pump. Now a few years later, I finally have the ability to install a 12k btu heat pump mini splite from @COZEWARE to correct my mistake and moreover spot cool the parts of my house I am in the most while helping the load on the central A/C and doing it while running off my non-grid tied solar. Even better, during the winter when I have the best solar and least power load, I can use the heat pump to warm the house and save money on the natural gas needed for the furnace.
I would recommend checking with local rules for your installation and advise contacting a licensed electrician for the wiring but I am absolutely pleased with how the installation went and how much cooler the living room and kitchen have been since I installed it. It's even much quieter in the livingroom now too!
