Competition is often touted as being at the core of what makes this civilisation, this capitalist society, successful. But how rational is it really to base a society on competition, on a win-lose profit-seeking model? Anarchists emphasise the importance of co-operation, and it is one of the fundamental characteristics of the society we are seeking to create. This is not out of some lovey-dovey naivety, but because co-operation is the most effective way for humans to satisfy their wants and needs.
