Compatible SSDs to Use For the Black Magic Pocket Cinema 6K PRO
It's one thing owning a 6 K camera but another thing if you haven't budgeted for the recording media. The Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K PRO outputs video to: USB C port, SD cards and CFAST cards. 3 choices and all have their own benefits depending upon your workflow.
For FCF we are generally shooting clips which are no longer than 1 minute duration. CFAST cards are still quite expensive for the storage space, SD cards are similarly priced.
Ok the remaining options are SSD's. So Black Magic lists many options for recording of 6K footage, however, the compression starts at 5:1and NOT 3:1.
What SSD drives are really compatible?
We have found that using the AXAGON SSD enclosure with a PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe interface (which can handle several Drive Form factors- this one being a M.2 2280 ie 80mm long) with a Kingston M.2 2280 2TB (2M hr op and 0-70C operating temperature $400-$450 AUS), can easily handle 1 minute (and probably longer) clips without dropping frames, is a cost effective way to capture 6K full resolution footage from the Black Magic Pocket Cinema 6K PRO camera. This AXAGON Aluminium enclosure is passively cooled, as the enclosure case acts as an effective heat dissipator. The enclosure also comes with a heat transfer pad.

Caveats!
1/ You must assemble this yourself (dead easy to do- but if you screw it up you can destroy the card) (Ok if you can't perform this then you probably shouldn't be using such a camera anyway LOL).
2/ Bear in mind that 1 minute of full resolution 6K footage will take up approximately 9 Gb of memory! So 2 TB will give you only about 220 minutes of recording time.
3/ We used a 10cm High speed USB C cable- Note this is NOT an ordinary cable. They are usually short and very thick as more wires need to be accommodated within the cable.
