Comedian Lou Young sits down with Ray Daniels on five years as an undrafted NFL player, getting cut the day his daughter was born, Coach Prime calling him on New Year's Eve, and what Steve Harvey told him about his face.
Lou Young made four different NFL rosters in his rookie year alone. He tells the whole story - scratching for a spot with no signing bonus and no leverage, the hotel room he destroyed after a deal fell through, the flight home on Frontier where a stranger let him get it all out, and getting released while he was holding his newborn daughter.
He also explains why comedy feels easy after all that. He made content through a torn Achilles that would have had him sitting in injured reserve, and he built a whole production crew out of family - his 21-year-old nephew behind the camera - instead of waiting for somebody to hand it to him.
