The Orton Effect allows you to apply layers of your image over itself to build up the desired qualities of the image. Synergistic use of the sharpening tools allows you to push the image quality even further. Let's take an image of the Whirlpool Galaxy and process it this way and see how it stands up to a Hubble image of the Whirlpool.
