We set out for a “quick” drive in Western Colorado… and ended up falling hard for one of the most underrated canyon roads in the state. 🚐💨 In this travel episode, we explore the wild public lands along CO Highway 141—from Unaweep Canyon and Gateway / Gateway Canyons to the jaw-dropping Hanging Flume and the uranium-mining history around Uravan.
Along the way we share what it’s really like RVing this remote corner of Colorado: BLM camping/boondocking options, rough road warnings (and why you don’t want to be out here when it’s wet), a sunset view over a reclaimed ghost town site, a whirlwind stop in Telluride, and even a quick roadside repair when our axlw decides to dump fluid when the axle bolt loosened up.
