Colorado isn’t hosting the World Cup this year, but its grass is.
Green Valley Turf Co. in Platteville, Colorado grew turf for three stadiums hosting World Cup matches this summer. The sod has successfully been installed at stadiums in Houston, Dallas and Atlanta.
These southern stadiums will be air-conditioned, so they need grass that thrives at cooler temperatures.
Green Valley Turf is one of 10 farms across North America to grow turf for the World Cup, which starts June 11.
