Color matching isn’t just difficult, it’s almost impossible sometimes, because color is always changing! Here I demonstrate a quick color match of vintage blue street tile using oil paint and a palette knife on Arches oil paper. This blue color is part of my “Colors of Ballard” print and printed tote bag. This is the process I went through to examine and approximate colors around the neighborhood. Doing this observation brought up many questions about why and how to match color for paintings.
