I've been adding a lot of different visual tools as well as music generation to this software. It is still based on the original idea of generating colors that match with musical frequencies, but now it actually generates the music to go along with it.
It also has a set of ten different possible shaders that behave both as a filter over the image, and a different musical track and instrument. So the more shaders you add, the more melodies you will hear.
All the shader options are not there yet, you can see I was adding a few to the bottom of the menu. Also, I have not really put much thought into how instruments correspond with the shaders. I think the visual effect should match the sounds, so a shader that increases sharpness or contrast should have a sharper sound, and something that blurs should have a softer sound, etc...
I also plan to add more options like locking sliders so they will not randomize, and allowing you to pick your musical scale and such.
Here is a link to the original software, which does not have any of the shaders or music options.
