Cole Custer began his NASCAR Cup Series career with Mike Shiplett and the entire team that won the XFINITY Series championship in 2020. Looking to build a successful career at Stewart Haas Racing in car number 41. Despite winning a race at Kentucky in his rookie season, Cole Custer so far has been a NASCAR Cup Series bust in his 98 starts. This season, while his teammates Kevin Harvick, Chase Briscoe, and Aric Almirola have all improved from SHR's DISHAASTER of a 2021, Cole Custer has gotten worse. Now the rumor mills are suggesting he could be ousted from the 41 by Gene Haas and Tony Stewart in favor of Kyle Busch. This third year driver is struggling.
