The Youkai Mountain range. As we began a new year, we ended up starting in the snow, and where the Moriya Shrine sits.
As Merry and I climb up the mountain, the temperature begins to get colder and colder.
When we get close to the peak, Merry begins to feel irritation in her eyes.
"Um, Merry, are you all right?" I asked.
"It hurts. It's giving me a hard time seeing," she replied.
She shuts her eyes to protect them. I carefully guide her to ensure she doesn't trip, especially with these floor-length gowns we are wearing.
But then, things start to get worse. "Now isn't the time for a brain freeze! I didn't eat anything cold lately," she whimpered.
Eventually, we make it to the top, with the Moriya Shrine in eyesight for me, but not Merry.
Luckily, there was a café nearby, so I took Merry in for safety.
"I don't know what the heck happened. What caused my eyes and head to ache!?" she questioned.
I exhale. Could it be Merry's ability acting strangely?
This is my first official video of 2026. Decided to change things up a bit by not having it be a PC-98 remix of some sort. The name for this video was suggested by a user who commented on a blog post, and I'm very happy to honor him. Not to mention, this will be the name of my next Hifuu album that will release in June. Since the winter season is in full swing, why not begin as such?
