The editing community has produced many videos that are quite important to a lot of people. I've been getting more and more frustrated with my favorite edits disappearing off youtube, with no way for me to access them ever again. That's why I started building a platform for automated discovery and archival of video game edits, with the goal of never losing an edit ever again.

Since starting the archival process in August 2022, we have recently hit the 200.000 discovered edits milestone, with the storage space consumed quickly approaching 5 TB. This makes me want to say that we've now archived nearly every edit ever released. Still, there are obviously edits that have disappeared long before this project started.

You can access the index part of the archive at codmvm.com/archive. There is a search function, which can help you find edits you may not be able to find on youtube anymore. In the future I hope to extend the search to also allow for searching by songs, artists or games.

The archive also relies upon your help. Is there an edit you can't find on the archive? Please submit it so we can archive it!

Currently, there is no feature implemented that allows for downloading of videos that are not available on youtube anymore - even if I do have a local copy. This is still something I need to put more thought into from both a technical and a moral perspective.
