Black Girls CODE X GoldieBlox Announce A Scholarship for Young Artists

In this video, MacKenzie Glover and Jiliane are excited to announce that we are giving away thousands of dollars to student coders like you.

It’s time to put all those coding skills to work. Black Girls CODE and GoldieBlox want to see your final projects. Students are invited to take what they learned from CODE Along modules one and/or two and submit a final project showcasing your skills for a chance to win one of two $2500 scholarships.

Eligibility:
Applicants must be female-identifying or gender non-binary students of ALL races.
Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents.
Applicants must be between the ages of 13 and 18 years old.
Applicants must provide parent/guardian consent and contact information (if under 18 years old)

MacKenzie Glover is a member of the 2022 Million Girls Moonshot Flight Crew and is now a mentor for the 2023 Flight Crew. She has been involved in STEM activities since she was in 2nd grade. It started with her Girl Scout troop completing STEM related badges and journeys as a Brownie. She is still a member of Girl Scouts and enjoys working on all of the STEM badges as a Senior scout. She joined Baltimore County 4-H and the Hunt Valley 4-H Robotics team in 3rd grade and has participated in robotics ever since.cOutside of school time she participates in a community Robotics Team #9315 Coding Comets, Girl Scouts, and feeding a colony of feral cats. In her spare time monthly, she volunteers with senior citizens and mentors younger girls who are interested in STEM. MacKenzie is an aspiring Engineer in the making.
