I have good friends who call pitches for their staff, and I disagree with them as well. TEACH the skill. Let them do it. Let them fail. Let them learn.

Oh - and most of the coaches calling the game…are not very good at it anyway. The kids will do just fine. Stop trying to control every aspect of the game. The best coaches TEACH rather than control. And you don’t learn by having someone else do it for you.
