Many people will remember the Oscar Award-winning movie "Moneyball," starring Brad Pitt. It was the story of trying to build a baseball team based on performance data, versus 'star' status of players. A famous line was "If he's such a good hitter, why doesn't he hit good." What happens if we apply similar principles to the thesis of human-caused global warming? We are constantly told that CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions from human industry are responsible for all the modern day warming since ~1860. But is that true, and how can we find out? Ron Davison, P. Eng., and president of Friends of Science Society has taken a look at various data to see if the rise in CO2 concentration correlates to changes in Greenland's ice and that of Antarctica. He also shows that temperatures fluctuate without correlation to the rise in CO2 concentration. Does CO2 concentration rise correlate with sea level rise? No. CO2 concentrations also did not control the Holocene temperature changes, and so on. This is CO2's "moneyball moment" - if CO2 is such a good climate driver, why doesn't it drive climate good?" This is a shorter presentation of detailed work that is available on Davison's personal website: climatechangeandmusic.com/co2s-moneyball-moment Please like, share and subscribe! ![Climate Action Shifts Gears to State and City Level
15 Minute Cities - a concept you never voted for.
This video explainer is an update to a previous presentation that Michelle Stirling gave on the Tish Conlin podcast. It incorporates the fact that now the Trump administration has pulled out of the Paris Agreement and related commitments, the US climate movement, under the umbrella organization of America-is-all-in will continue trying to meet their Paris targets by working at the state and city levels. What does that mean for you? Well, in short, 15 minute cities. The C-40 and C-100 city organizations are activist groups that believe they can solve the [alleged] climate crisis by modifying your behaviour as a citizen in the urban/suburban context. Despite the fact that cities have no mandate to address climate change, these activist groups will impose their beliefs and plans upon unsuspecting citizens, trying to reduce your personal carbon footprint to 3 tCO2e (tons Carbon Dioxide equivalent) by 2030 and to ZERO by 2050. In Canada, most citizens have a 14-17 t/CO2e personal carbon footprint, so imagine how restricted your freedoms would be! Please like, share and subscribe!
