Many people will remember the Oscar Award-winning movie "Moneyball," starring Brad Pitt. It was the story of trying to build a baseball team based on performance data, versus 'star' status of players. A famous line was "If he's such a good hitter, why doesn't he hit good." What happens if we apply similar principles to the thesis of human-caused global warming? We are constantly told that CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions from human industry are responsible for all the modern day warming since ~1860. But is that true, and how can we find out? Ron Davison, P. Eng., and president of Friends of Science Society has taken a look at various data to see if the rise in CO2 concentration correlates to changes in Greenland's ice and that of Antarctica. He also shows that temperatures fluctuate without correlation to the rise in CO2 concentration. Does CO2 concentration rise correlate with sea level rise? No. CO2 concentrations also did not control the Holocene temperature changes, and so on. This is CO2's "moneyball moment" - if CO2 is such a good climate driver, why doesn't it drive climate good?" This is a shorter presentation of detailed work that is available on Davison's personal website: climatechangeandmusic.com/co2s-moneyball-moment Please like, share and subscribe!
