There's an international media campaign about to start, in advance of the COP30 climate conference in Belem, Brazil in early November 2025. A media umbrella group called "Covering Climate Now" is planning a worldwide campaign pushing the theme that there is an 89% 'silent majority' of citizens who want MORE climate action from their governments. They cite a few surveys that show that citizens around the world want more climate action - but the surveys never include the actual cost of climate action, or the fact that climate action won't stop climate change. If people knew those facts, it is far more likely that the "89%" would advocate for jobs, vibrant industry and a normal, happier way of life, rather than being inundated by advocay journo stories designed to "make climate fear compelling."
