This series of videos documents my ride from Hancock, MD to Somerset, PA, on the C&O Canal towpath and the GAP to attend a reunion of high school classmates. This video picks up where Part 2 ended at the Pennsylvania Maryland line.
Part 3 takes me up to the Big Savage Tunnel then up to the Eastern Continental Divide, the highest point on the GAP trail. After that, it’s, literally, downhill. First to Meyersdale where I ended up charging my battery for an hour and bringing it from 37% up to 59%. After eating my packed lunch in Meyersdale, I continued my ride on the GAP to Rockwood after riding over the fantastic Salisbury Viaduct.
In Rockwood, I left the GAP, found my way through Rockwood until I reached Water Level Road which after 7+ miles would put me in Somerset, my destination.
