I forgot about this. I first did World Report and International Hour opens alone from scratch, using Kathy Jaroneski's logos. I wanted a bright non-gloomy background.
The lights going up the columns are slowed a lot from my original, and are very muted here. Originally I got very carried away with making those things really bright and animated. "Too Walt Disney" was the initial CNN reaction, and yeah ... it didn't belong with a serious newscast like World Report, which aired news reports from around the world, translated if needed from the original language. World Report was a Ted Turner idea to help show that CNN wasn't just another "American-biased" channel.
After my failed "Disney" version, Kathy Jaroneski and I this did the version that aired collaboratively ... and much better.
