Again, from Bill's 1" production tape. You never saw this quality broadcast!
This piece has TWICE the horizontal clarity/resolution of anything you ever saw on the air, and boy it's still so clean for analog (hey, it was sealed airtight for at least 15 years).
Remember, only about 330 horizontal pixels max were broadcast with NTSC (what you saw), but 1" recorded over twice that resolution, which is what you are seeing here.
Bill Feigenbaum was the primary illustrator, artist and animator of NBC Promotion Material for a good portion of the 1960's. This work cannot be found until I digitize, process and post it. A time capsule for sure.
He formed Feigenbaum Productions, having left NBC, despite the virtual total freedom that he had at NBC. In the early eighties, before PDI made their first splash starting maybe 1985, Bill Feigenbaum and Thad Beier with and at NYIT had developed the computer imagery and frame buffer necessary to get the stuff rendered, and finally to tape, frame-by-frame (i.e. not field-by-field interlaced).
These frames were full progressive frames at 30fps. They look gorgeous because we are seeing the ENTIRE FRAME.
So this is excellent animation at 30 images/sec. Interlaced 60 images/sec SD, unlike this 30fps progressive sequence, has more smooth motion, but it lacks in the progressive detail that can be seen in highly resolute 30fps animations like this.
