In Part 2 of the SYIL X7 broaching and slotting project, I show the finished custom screen running an actual keyway/slot cutting cycle on the machine.
The screen allows the operator to enter the cutter diameter, bore diameter, keyway or slot dimensions, depth of cut, feed rate, rotation angle, and number of cuts. The control then handles the cutting cycle and displays information such as cuts remaining and distance to go.
In this video, I run the completed system on the X7 and cut actual internal keyways to demonstrate how the finished interface works at the machine.
This project was designed to make broaching and slotting operations easier to set up and run directly from the Syntec 22MA control.
