In this video I go over my updated tool change macro for the SYIL X7 running the Syntec 22MA control.

One of the biggest additions is the ability to call T0 and intentionally leave the spindle empty. This is especially useful for probing, setup work, maintenance, or anytime you want the spindle cleared without having to manually remove and later reload a tool.
I also demonstrate the additional checks built into the macro. When a tool is called during a program, the macro checks that the requested tool is actually loaded in the ATC and verifies that the tool has a valid height offset. If either condition is missing, the machine stops and gives the operator a clear alarm instead of continuing with a bad tool call.
In the video I demonstrate:
Calling T0 to leave the spindle empty
How the new tool-change screen responds
Tool-table and ATC checks
Missing tool detection
Missing tool-length / height offset detection
Alarm behavior when required tool information is missing
This macro is designed as a direct replacement for the standard tool-change routine while adding functionality that makes everyday setup and programming easier and safer.
Machine: SYIL X7
Control: Syntec 22MA
Feature: Updated Tool Change Macro / T0
If you own a SYIL machine with a Syntec control, subscribe for more macros, setup guides, troubleshooting, probing, ATC tips, and CNC tutorials.
