FN Tower lasted as an manned interlocking until 2003; when it was actually remoted to another nearby interlocking tower (Bridge in River Rouge) until 2019, when Bridge was closed, and control of the interlocking (long since renamed CP-Rodney) was passed to the Conrail Shared Assets dispatcher in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey.
The complexity of the plant and the multiple railroads involved no doubt lengthened FN's time as a manned interlocking.
