A complete recording of Clérambault's Suite in c minor. Three of the movements (the Prélude, the Allemande, and the Courante) have been posted in previous videos. For this video, I recorded the Gigue for the first time, made a new recording of the Sarabande Grave to match the sound quality of the other movements, realigned the score that accompanies the recordings, and included a short introduction that examines the publication of Clérambault's 1er Livre de Pièces de Clavecin. I am extremely grateful to Jon Baxendale, who provided me with the preface of his forthcoming edition of Clérambault's Pièces de Clavecin. His preface addresses the background to Clérambault's original publication, and the information I present in my introduction is based on Jon's findings.
