A VolcanoDiscovery expedition managed to be the first at the site of the large eruption of Hayli-Gubbi volcano in Ethiopia's remote Erta Ale range. The volcano had produced a large explosive eruption two days earlier on 23 Nov 2025. When arriving at the scene, the crater was strongly degassing, making approach very difficult.
