I'm still in shock one week after the worst ice storm I've encountered ripped through my red pine forest as I walk through what's left of the trees. I'm taking count of the tree damage and trying to make sense of the scale of the situation today. With snow still deep in the woods and the damage fresh, things are certainly slow-going today. If nothing else, by the end of my tour of the forest I"ll at least have an idea of the magnitude of the damage and be able to make better choices on what the future holds for it.
