In this 1 Min PCB Design Review, Tech Consultant Zach Peterson reviews a community-submitted STM32 and LLCC68 radio module PCB. Zach identifies several issues that need to be addressed before this board is ready for fabrication, including a confusing board outline with what appears to be both a standard edge and a routed path, copper pours extending to the route and board edges, and mysterious slots around the coplanar ground with no clear purpose.
Zach also calls out silkscreen markings for the SPI interface that are hidden underneath components, pin labels buried beneath a connector body, silkscreen falling directly onto solder mask openings, and β critically β a missing paste layer in the Gerber package. While this design shows solid promise, these are the kinds of pre-fab details that can derail an otherwise good board.
