About halfway through flight 9 Elliot realized he was sitting in a pudde of hot hydraulic fluid. The cushions were removed to make the helmet fit, the seat back and pan were removed to make the parachute fit. Not sure if it was a blessing or a curse but this meant when the inner gear door actuators leaked they leaked directly on the pilot.
