The national aspiration for a Clean & Green Singapore (CGS) was celebrated and reaffirmed at CGS Day 2023, organised by the National Environment Agency on Saturday, 4th Nov 2023. Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, Mr Heng Swee Keat was the Guest-of-Honour. The event this year was hosted by the South East District, in conjunction with the annual East Coast Green Festival, and was held at the site of GreenSpace+, an upcoming green activities hub for residents.
CGS Day featured a traditional tree-planting ceremony with DPM Heng, followed by the presentation of the Environmental Services Star Awards with Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Ms Ms Grace Fu, and NPark’s Community in Bloom Ambassador Awards with Senior Minister of State for National Development, Mr Tan Kiat How, at the event.
Over 20 schools, government agencies and community partners also set up booths to share more about their environmental and sustainability initiatives, such as Project Wolbachia, The Wormery Movement, and the Green Action for Communities Showcase.
