What’s the difference between the Classic and the Universal model? 🤔🎺
In a nutshell, the Classic is a brighter, more shiny version of an all-round trumpet while the Universal is a darker, warmer sounding horn.
The Classic is the most traditional sounding instrument we make, with all of the upgrades you can expect from a LOTUS instrument. The bright sound signature comes largely from the light all brass bell.
It’s a very efficient amplifier, which means you’ll get more volume for the same amount of effort compared to the vast majority of trumpets out there. If you’re looking for a traditional all-round trumpet that will blend well with other trumpets in a section, the Classic is very likely the instrument for you.
The Universal has the same geometry as the Classic, only the bell is slightly thicker and has a flare made of phosphor bronze. These factors contribute to making it a warmer sounding instrument with a more defined core.
With a Universal, you can still access all the brightness you need, but the sound is surrounded by more warmth.
If you’re playing in a trumpet section with Bachs and Yamahas, you’ll likely find that your sound is a bit warmer sounding compared to theirs. However, if you’re longing for a trumpet that is super easy to play, highly efficient and that helps you produce a warm and rich tone - the Universal is a truly excellent choice. #shorts
