Clark Trail in Weldon Spring Conservation Area
One of our favorite trails! This year, we are using a new good "60 Hikes within 60 Miles of St Louis" to guide our hiking adventures. Yes that means that we will be hiking many miles in Missouri and Illinois. This is the first hike from this great resource guide book. The Clark Trail is in Weldon Spring Conservation Area in St Charles County, Missouri. The trails are maintained by the Missouri Department of Conservation. Please be aware when you are planning your hikes here that it is an area the is open for hunting during certain seasons. There are two trails at this location the Clark Trail is 5.3 miles long and the Lewis Trail is 8.5 miles long. We have hiked both in both directions over the years. This trail is usually very busy and is well trodden. It has beautiful overlooks of the Missouri River as well as many wooded and bottomland views.
