I haven't done a vocal cover in a while so I decided to break my one video a week format for today to upload this cover. Citizen Soldier is a fairly new rock band and I've gotta say, they're probably my favorite rock band as of right now. The kinda vibes I got from their music was a mixture of Daughtry's instrumental style and Skillet's vocals (Although I've only heard like two Skillet songs but stiillll), but they have a lot of songs I can relate to, one of which is this one.
This song talks about the aftermath of a breakup. Dealing with the pain but also feeling guilty for hurting the person who broke up with you. I can relate to it a lot right now because of some personal things I'm dealing with at the moment (I'd rather not get into detail about it) and because of that, this cover means a lot to me.
The instrumental was made using a website called PhonicMind. It uses artificial intelligence to attempt to "remove the vocals" from music, and it can do it surprisingly well for pretty much any song, including this one.
I would've just made my own instrumental (I have enough guitar knowledge that I can certainly handle this song. The only part I'd have trouble with is the solo), but sadly I can't because I don't own an electric guitar at the moment. Nor do I own a drumset. So unfortunately, this will have to do.
