This is a really beautiful circus act. It's a part of Cirque Du Vulgar and the performers are Ben and Abbie. Cirque Du Vulgar is a travelling circus for adults and grown ups. For copyright reasons I am unable to use the original track used for the performance which is a shame. It's a sexy and sensual act involving a huge amount of skill and strength. If Cirque Du Vulgar every come to your town do go and see a show.
I filmed this with a Sony A1 and an FX30. For the majority of this the lenses are the beautiful Cooke SP3, including the new 18mm. I love the way these lenses handle the lights, they flare but not excessively so. The FX30 was used for some of the high shots as to get these shots I have to climb up the supports for the big top tent and I find the FX30 works a little better for that use. There is also a small amount of DJI Pocket 3 footage in this, the Pocket 3 was slung from a WirralLite cable cam. I'm a fully qualified rope access technician and do some work as a circus rigger, so setting up the cable cam is an easy thing for me to do. Perhaps next year I'll take my full size cable cam and fly the A1.
