Here is a short video of my prototype lens control box. Acting as a handgrip the box includes a zoom rocker that drives a high precision servo motor that can be used to drive the zoom ring of most DSLR zoom lenses, turning it into a servo zoom. In addition the box contains the digital control interface for Canon EF mount lenses allowing the control of exposure via a thumbwheel, remote focus and image stabilisation. The focus control can be placed on the camera rigs hand grips for convenience.
This is a fully functioning prototype. I am working with a UK manufacturer to turn this into a real product.
