While it didn't have many original songs, the ones that Circle of the Moon did have stand out as the best in the game, especially the titular ending theme. Took me under half an hour to finish, i think, considering the loop is barely 20 seconds and the arrangement is fairly simple. But the song is freakin' beautiful so i figured "why not?"

I covered this gem a while ago with the tried-and-true VRC6, but im not really happy with it. The choice of instruments was a bit bland and i dont really like how the channels were mixed. Because of that, i decided to re-cover it with my current industry-standard VRC6 style, and i think it turned out a helluva lot better this time.

So i covered this, what, almost a year ago? Well ive learned a lot more about Famitracking since then and ive always wanted to re-cover this song but never got around to it. There are some caveats though...the original MIDI i used was a glorified remix that wasnt faithful to the original song in most parts, so i decided to mix in some elements from the PSP FFI cover of this song. Without going into an essay of everything i added or changed, i think the compromise worked pretty well.

So this ones a bit out of left field, i will admit. However, AVGN II is a really fun game with some really sweet tracks despite its use of free soundfonts off the internet and muddy sound mixing. Barring that though, the entire soundtrack is definitely worth a listen, especially this track, used for the final few levels. For something i had to transcribe multiple parts of by ear, it was a really fun song to cover.
This song is effing long, too...one loop is 2:18. However, despite running low on SC upload time, i figured it best to loop it twice just like every other song ive done. The actual .0CC file is a hefty 88 frames long since i decided to track the song at Speed 1 with a tempo of 100BPM (the original song is 300 BPM).

[thanks for 20k views!!!!!] Ive had his one in the works for a while, actually; it just took me forever to actually sit down and finish it. Part of that was due to the length of a single loop (about 1:27) but part of it was also due to me being lazy.
While editing i also noticed the effects column for the Sawtooth channel got cut off...thats not too big of a deal though. Just the standard P7E detuning effect and a shitload of G01 effects for that staccato feel.

Sorry about the re-upload, i forgot to adjust the music volume in WMM so it was only at 50% volume. What a program.
Anyway, f you havent already, i highly suggest you listen to the music tracks from Sonic 3&Ks multiplayer zones. Its a shame such awesome tunes werent front and center in the main campaign, but the fact they exist at all is pretty rad. So i decided to cover one. Who knows, Chrome Gadget is a possibility...perhaps in the future.
