Our students brought their creativity to life in the Cinanima teaser, created on the Short Film Creation course. Cinanima is one of the oldest and most prestigious animation festivals in Europe, held annually in Espinho, Portugal since 1976. It showcases the best animated works from around the world — from student projects and shorts to full-length films — giving creators a chance to reach an international audience and connect with industry professionals.
From the first sketches to the final frames, our students worked together under the guidance of mentor Edward Kurchevsky, learning every step of the animation pipeline. This project gave them the chance to:
-Develop strong teamwork and communication skills
-Animate expressive, compelling characters
-Work on timing, composition, and visual storytelling
-Create a polished, festival-ready short film
The teaser demonstrates how student ideas transform into dynamic animation, with characters and scenes full of life, personality, and energy. This hands-on experience not only sharpens animation skills but also helps build a professional portfolio that meets international standards.
